MARION, Ill. – Alicia Stauffacher led the Northern Kentucky
University women’s golf team to its first tournament victory
of the season as the Norse won the Midwest Shootout at Kokopelli
Golf Course.
NKU (330-313—643) went 67-over-par in an event that featured 12 of the Great
Lakes Valley
Conference’s 13 women’s
golf squads, finishing 13 strokes ahead of GLVC foe Indianapolis
(333-323—656). Defending GLVC champion Drury (326-336—662) finished fourth,
just one stroke behind Southern Indiana (332-329—661).
Individually,
Stauffacher finished second at 10-over-par (77-77—154), four strokes
behind medalist Kristi Piepenbrink (74-76—150)
of Indianapolis, who had the low score in each of the tournament’s
two rounds.
Sofie Rasmussen (80-77—157) placed third in the event
with a 13-over-par. Lyndsey Bevill (85-80 165) shared ninth place,
while Alicia Lawrence
(88-79 167) tied for 14th place to round out the team scoring.
Playing
as individuals, Hannah Lindauer (90-80—170) placed 25th, Charity
Evans (93-87—180) finished 45th, Nicole Hess (91-94—185)
shared 60th, and Angela Lawrence (95-101—196) held 74th in
