HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women’s tennis
team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a victory
on Friday as the Norse took a 9-0 sweep victory over Bellarmine.
Maggie
Koetter, a sophomore transfer from West Virginia State, ran
her singles record to a perfect 5-0 with a win over Lauren
Cotton in the No. 6 singles flight, 6-0, 6-1. In doubles action,
Stephanie Isaacs and Kristen Sunday took a hard-fought 9-8
victory over Sarah Roebker and Maria Hornung in the No. 1 flight
to secure
the clean sweep.
Northern Kentucky
(5-1, 1-0 GLVC) will hit the road next weekend, traveling to
face Southern Illinois-Edwardsville
in GLVC play.
SCHEDULE
NOTE: NKU’s match against Kentucky
Wesleyan, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed.
The match will
be made up on April 7.
