Brandi Doss was honored on Tuesday as part of the Daktronics Division
II Women’s Soccer All-America team. Doss was named as a third-team
selection.
Doss joins Lauki’i
Cheng of Wisconsin-Parkside as the only Great Lakes Valley Conference
players selected. Cheng
was tabbed
as an
honorable mention.
Doss, a junior from Harrison, Ohio, keyed the
NKU offense during the 2008 season, netting just one goal but adding
15 assists to
lead all GLVC players. Doss ranked second in the nation in assists

the first NKU women’s player
to earn All-American honors since Kristen Votapek was selected
a second-team All-American
in 2005. Votapek was one of the most dangerous attackers in NKU
history, scoring 27 goals and adding 26 assists in 43 games, ranking
second
all-time at NKU in goals per game (0.63) and assists per game
(0.6).
The Norse finished the 2008 season with a 16-4 record after
qualifying for their first NCAA Tournament since 2005. The team
offense was among the best in the nation, netting 2.7 goals per game
to rank
19th nationally. NKU will lose just two players to graduation,
goalkeeper Angela Healy and forward Lauren Franzen, as the
