Norse improve to 16-4 by beating Indianapolis for 30th straight time |

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Bethany Gastright recorded 22 kills and 19 digs Wednesday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated the University of Indianapolis, 30-22, 28-30, 30-22, 30-28. Sara Taylor had 51 assists and a .714 hitting percentage for NKU (16-4), which extended its win streak to 12. The Norse also remained unbeaten (30-0) in the all-time series against Indianapolis. Julie Hathorn added 11 kills, 10 block assists and a .375 hitting percentage for NKU, which is ranked No. 19 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Norse remained perfect in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with an 8-0 record, and NKU now holds a two-game lead in the GLVC standings. Indianapolis dropped to 20-5 overall, 6-2 in the GLVC. Luisa Gomez had eight kills, 18 digs and 12 block assists for the Norse, and Denise Barhorst added nine kills, 10 block assists and a .292 hitting percentage. NKU will return home Thursday at 7 p.m. to meet Bellarmine University, and the Norse will close out the week Friday night at 7 p.m. with a match against Georgetown (Ky.) College in Regents Hall.
